# How to import a video into Capte ?

The first thing you should do is make sure that the video format is compatible with Capte.
**Recommended formats**: MP4, MOV.
To check the format of a video, simply right-click on it and view the information.

* **Recommended video size:**
Ideally, no larger than 1 GB.
You can add videos up to **1 hour long**!

* To recover a video, you can first download it from platforms such as YouTube using this method.

* Drag and drop the file into your browser or click on ‘**add a video**’.

* Select the video and click ‘**Open**’.

* Wait while the video is uploaded and processed.

**What to do in case of an import error?**

* **Unsupported formats:** convert the video online or with the free Handbrake software.

* **Unknown error:** contact Capte support.
